"Body control kills pain"

This consists of an idiosyncratic approach to the different ailments which arise while at work and is based on the central concepts of information and movement. Clear information and the daily execution of certain movements guarantee a significant reduction in the number of work absences as a result of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury). This is achieved without unnecessary spending on ergonomic office material.

It is widely known that the impact of such absences causes considerable expense for employers and insurance companies. At the end of the 1990s this became a major issue. Many people complained increasingly of pains in their arms, neck, back and shoulders. 2003 was a record year with 30% of the total number of work absences attributed to RSI. Following this there was a marked downward trend and in May 2008 the Centre for insurance statistics (CVS) reported that in 2007, only 5% of work injuries were caused by RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury). The reason for this decrease probably lies in the many awareness-raising activities and the preventive measures taken by employers during this period.

In order of importance, the following items are discussed:

  • Back pain (75% of the active poopulation)
  • Neck pain
  • Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)

RSI is a generic term used to describe a range of complaints arising from movements - often small and seemingly not tiring - which are carried out repeatedly over long periods of time. The conditions arising from RSI include bursitis and tenosynovitis in particular.
